Chinese New Year Celebrations

Claremont Quarter will welcome in the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dragon, with traditional Dragon Dancing on Saturday 28 January at 2.30pm.

WA Chin Woo Athletic Association Inc. led by Dr Kee Lee Tan will visit the centre to perform the traditional ceremonial dance in order to ‘bless’ the centre and those in it.

The Dragon is the fifth sign of the Chinese Zodiac, which consists of 12 animal signs. The Dragon is a creature of myth and legend. The Emperor of China usually uses the dragon as a symbol of his imperial power.

Be sure to receive an Ang Pow from in centre. To receive luck, you must place a gold coin in the Ang Pow and feed the Ang Pow into the Dragon's mouth then walk under the Dragon. This will then bring you good luck and good health.

May the celestial Dragon bring good luck to you all!
